The novel genetic technologies that have become available to humans have exploded in the recent future. However, the move from modification to design of genetics has begun, prompting questions surrounding the ethics of the issue.

While ethical questions of this nature can be next to impossible to determine definitively, the medically legal line must be drawn somewhere. Biases and preferences separate themselves from medically required modification to have a healthy pregnancy, and the ethical questions become increasingly important over time.
